
The vinyl cutter uses a sharp blade to automatically cut out vinyl stickers or templates.
This vinyl cutter is known by a number of model numbers e.g. WK 1360, MH 1351, and so on.

The vinyl cutter is a relatively safe tool when used correctly.

The vinyl cutter is connected to the PC that is closest to it.
The PC has Inkscape installed, which you will use to prepare your design and send it to the vinyl cutter.
Refer the US Cutter manual, pages 12 - 24.
Load material
Adjusting the position of where the cut will be made

Make a test cut
Adjust cutting speed and cutting force settings as required
Inkscape comes with the plugin required to drive the vinyl cutter.
Most of the work is in file preparation.

View > Display Mode > Outline.


Convert everything to individual paths.
Ctrl + Shift + G).Rectangle will not print. Convert them to paths. (Path -> Object to Path or Ctrl + Shift + C).Path -> Object to Path or Ctrl + Shift + C).Path -> Stroke to Path or Ctrl + Alt + C).Path -> Break Apart or Ctrl + Shift + K).Repeat the above operations (Ungroup, Object to Path, Stroke to Path, Break Apart) until only paths remain.

Path -> Object to Path (Ctrl + Shift + C).
Turn on the power to the Vinyl cutter. (Power switch on left hand side.)
Make sure the USB cable is connected between the PC and the vinyl cutter.
Use Device Manager to check which COM port the vinyl cutter is connected to. (In the screenshot below, it's COM3). This may change each time the vinyl cutter is turned on.

Extensions > Export > Plot.
Connection Settings > Serial Port to match the COM port found in Device Manager.


Final checks
When ready to cut, press the "Apply" button. This sends your file to the vinyl cutter!
The vinyl cutter will start working after it has received all data.
Congratulations! You've cut vinyl!
Unload your material from the machine and turn it off.
This video is good except for the following:
- References to there being "2 versions of Inkscape installed" on the PC - there is now only one version of Inkscape installed (and it is the correct version).
- Manually moving the head to the starting position of the cut - don't do this. Use the controls on the machine in "Offline/Pause" mode instead. See Page 22 of the US Cutter manual.
